GENERAL

WHAT DOES THIS SITE DO?
We are a community dedicated to all things Rickyl and Leedus! We are focused around the creation and distribution of fanworks. We post writing and art challenges for members to participate in, fanwork recommendations to read/view, facilitate a beta match-up program, post recent fanworks by our members, and keep an up-to-date membership profile. As long as you are a Rickyl supporter, you are welcome to join!

WHY RICKYL?
Because they’re awesome! We believe deeply in the connection between the two characters and believe canon supports the foundations for a strong romantic relationship. Besides, we have come to know that there’s no such thing as “just” a Rickyl fan. We are passionate, caring, wonderful individuals! And also, Rick and Daryl are just HOT.

WHY DID YOU START THIS PAGE?
The founding members came together as strangers in the summer of 2015, only connected by the love of Rickyl. We would like to share that love and we would also like to give back to the community by offering resources and activities to benefit the fandom. This site is in no way meant to erase or replace any existing entity. We just want a place to post challenges, recommendations, and advertise our members!

WHO ARE THE ADMINS OF THIS SITE?
This site is associated with the Tumblr site and a generic rickylwritersgroup@gmail.com email address that can be emailed at any time. The administrators of the group include Michelle. A. Emerlind (general posting/organizing and recommendations), skarlatha (Joining and Membership), s0urw0lf/darylldixonn (HTML/Coding/Designing)...

CAN I BE AN ADMIN?
This group is small at the moment, so we have enough administrators for now. But as the group grows and evolves, please watch our posts for if we open up administration slots.

I HAVE STRONG TRIGGERS. WHAT KIND OF WORK WILL YOU BE POSTING?
We aim to be inclusive of all, so we may post triggering works. However, we are dedicated to using a consistent and firm tagging system to identify any troubling subjects. If you have tagging suggestions, please contact an administrator.

HOW DO YOU TAG NEW WORKS/POSTED RECOMMENDATIONS/ETC.?
We tag based on the A03 tags that an author has put up. If a tag has not been listed in the author’s tags on A03, it will not appear here. See a missing tag? Please notify Michelle A. Emerlind or a current admin. You can also feel free to drop us an ask or an email at rickylwritersgroup@gmail.com.

FANWORK RECOMMENDATIONS

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT TO RECOMMEND?
We have a specific process for recommending fanworks, found on the recommendations board. All recommendations are put to a vote and recommendations are only for Rickyl or Leedus centered fanworks that do not violate our RULES.

WHY DO YOU NOT HAVE X FANFIC OR X FANART?
I don’t know! Do you like it? Feel free to rec it! All members can recommend fanworks through our submissions form, as long as those recommendations are in line with our rules.

CAN I RECOMMEND SOMETHING IF I'M NOT A MEMBER?
We only accept recommendations from current members, but membership is free and it's easy to join!

CAN I VOTE ON/ENDORSE SOMETHING IF I'M NOT A MEMBER?
We only accept voting/endorsing from current members, but membership is free and it's easy to join!

DO YOU RECOMMEND OTHER WORKS OUTSIDE OF YOUR MEMBERS' WORKS?
Yes! We recommend anything in the fandom we find to be great! Our recommendations page is all inclusive of Rickyl and Leedus, provided that the fics fall in line with our rules.

WHEN YOU POST A NEW WORK BY A MEMBER, DOES THAT MEAN IT IS RECOMMENDED BY THE GROUP AND THE ADMINS?
No, posting is separate from recommendations. We post all new member works, but not all new member works will make it to recommendations as the recommendation process is a voting process. This does mean, though, that some fanworks are not personally endorsed by specific members or the admins.

ARE ALL RECOMMENDATIONS ENDORSED BY THE ENTIRE GROUP?
No. We work under a voting process because we aim to be inclusive. This does mean, though, that some fanworks are not personally endorsed by specific members or the admins.

CAN I RECOMMEND A WORK IN PROGRESS?
The group will only recommend a completed work. However, if you have a WIP that you love, you can still put it in the recommendations form! We will create a “What Our Members Are Reading” post to encourage readers to check it out!

I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT RECOMMENDATIONS. WHO SHOULD I ASK?
Please direct any questions to Michelle_A_Emerlind or a current admin. You can also feel free to drop us an ask or an email at rickylwritersgroup@gmail.com.

CHALLENGES

I SEE THAT THE GROUP DOES CHALLENGES. WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT CHALLENGE?
Our current challenge can be found on the challenges board.

CAN I JOIN A CHALLENGE?
If you are a member of the group, yes! Currently only members of the Rickyl Writers' Group can post to our challenge collections, but it’s super easy to join.

I WOULD LIKE TO JOIN A CHALLENGE, BUT I'M NOT A WRITER. IS THERE SOMETHING I CAN DO?
Yes! We try to create inclusive challenges for all! If we do have a writing specific challenge, we will also have an “other creator” challenge as well!

CAN I DO A CHALLENGE IF I'M USING SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK?
If you are using someone else’s work, such as creating a podfic, a fanart for a story, a story for a fanart, or other collaborations, you can certainly join the challenge! We ask that you get permission from the work that you are using, however.

WHEN DO YOU ADD CHALLENGES?
We have a monthly challenge that begins at midnight on the 1st and ends at 11:59 EST on the last day of the month. In addition to monthly challenges, we may have other challenges with different dates. Please check the challenges page.

MY WORK FOR THE CHALLENGE IS FINISHED. WHAT DO I DO NOW?
Add it to our collection! You can find our challenges on AO3 under the parent collection “Rickyl Writers' Group Challenges.” From there, we will have individual collections set up for each challenge.

I DON'T HAVE AN AO3 ACCOUNT OR WOULD LIKE TO KEEP MY WORK ON TUMBLR ONLY, BUT WOULD LIKE TO LINK MY WORK TO THE GROUP. HOW DO I DO THAT?
A second option for linking your work to our group is to use the tags #rickylwritersgroup and #rwgchallenges.

I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT CHALLENGES. WHO SHOULD I ASK?
Please direct any questions to 1lostone or a current admin. You can also feel free to drop us an ask or an email at rickylwritersgroup@gmail.com.
